Do you want a netbook that has a stylish look and has great video output? Then you might want to take a look at the Samsung NF310-A01 Netbook. In this article I’m going to be covering all the features plus telling some of the good and bad things and why you should defiantly own one of these netbooks.
What The Samsung NF310-A01 Has
First off the Samsung NF310 is 10.82 inches in length, by 7.38 inches wide, by 1.21 in height and weighs only 2.87 pounds.
This little device packs a huge punch with it’s Intel Atom N550 dual core processor, which I might add is one of the biggest processors found in netbooks these days.
On top of that these little netbooks comes installed with 1 gig of RAM however I suggest you defiantly upgrade it up to 2 gig which is the maximum you can add to this little beast.
This netbook also comes with a 250 GB hard drive for plenty of storage space.
Finally, this netbook comes with three 3 USB ports, a 10.1 inch display, has all the normal WiFi capabilities, has a battery life of around 9 hours, a VGA port, SD card slot, blue tooth, a web cam, and comes loaded with Windows 7 Starter.
What I Like
First off, I found this laptop to have some excellent graphics and sound capabilities. The Samsung NF310 has no trouble keeping upith w Netflix, Hulu, and You Tube videos. On top of that I’ve also found that this netbook does great for gamers who are playing graphic intensive video games.
Secondly, I also liked how this netbook contained what was know as the fast start feature which allowed this machine to slow down power consumption and go into sleep mode. On top of that it also has the ability to resume full status within about 3 seconds giving you on the go usability at your finger tips.
Finally, I’ve also noticed that the keyboard for the Samsung NF310 is very comfortable to use and that it doesn’t feel any different than any other keyboard that I’ve used. I should mention though this keyboard is not exactly like a traditional keyboard in that the HOME and END key are missing but you can still access them by using the function key.
What I Didn’t Like
First off after doing some research I’ve found that a few people have had issues with their screens just going blank without being able to restore them. I should also mention though that this only happens to a very small percentage of users and is not a widespread issue.
Secondly, I found that setting up the Samsung NF310 can take a little while to do. However I’m not saying it’s necessarily tough but you’ll want at to spend at least a good half hour getting this little netbook all setup.
Third and finally, I’ve also noticed that this netbook comes loaded with the typical marketing junk when you first start your computer up as well. In fact I’ve found users who complained heavily about the Norton Antivirus software and how it’s been fairly tough to get rid of it. However it’s not really the netbooks fault entirely as this is an industry wide problem I’ve noticed with most other netbooks as well.
Is This Netbook For You
In the end I’ve found the Samsung NF310-Ao1 Netbook to be a great fit for gamers and those who love to watch videos and movies. However with a sharp resolution display it also makes a great fit for those using it for email, and the normal word processing.

In today’s review I’m going to cover a the Toshiba NB505-N508BL netbook, which packs a mighty punch but not in your wallet. In fact this little netbook only runs for $270, and weighs only 2.9 pounds, and can do loads of computing. To start here are some of the basic technical details.
Technical Info
First off it has an Intel N455 1.6GHz Processor configured with 1 gig of DDR2 RAM. However this machine can run up to as much as 2 gig of RAM which I highly recommend.
Secondly, it has a 250 GB Serial ATA hard drive which can store loads of information. The hard drive also has a speed of 5400RPM which is fairly typical among most netbooks.
Third, it has a display measuring 10.1 inches from corner to corner, which isn’t fairly small but works well for those who want to just check email, and surf the net.
Fourth, it come preloaded with Windows 7 starter which is fairly common for netbooks but some newer netbooks have been coming installed with Windows 7 Professional. I should also note that the OS can’t usually be upgraded as well.
Fifth, this netbook also contains 3 USB ports to hook up any external devices you may want. On top that it also has wireless wifi capabilities.
Finally, with the Toshiba nb505 it has a battery life of around almost 8 and a half hours. This isn’t to bad but I’ve seen other netbook models last as long as 14 hours.
What I Like
The first thing I liked about the Toshiba mini nb505-n508bl is that it has a full keyboard. Unlike most other netbooks they will typically have a slightly smaller keyboard and if you plan on doing a lot typing this would defiantly be the one to get.
Secondly, I’ve found that this netbook has a really sharp display with it. In fact the display has an integrated graphics media accelerator 3150 video processor. So if you are doing work that requires a clear display this netbook would benefit well.
Third and finally, I found that out of all the netbooks I’ve used this one is very light an easy to carry around. So if you’re someone who is on the go a lot this netbook will defiantly do the trick.
What I Didn’t Like
Now to keep this review fair like I do with all my reviews I am also going to share a few of the things I didn’t like about the Toshiba nb505-n508bl 10.1 inch netbook. First off, I’ve found in my research that a very few small percentage of people have received these netbook dead on arrival, meaning they didn’t even start up when they first got them. However if you buy your netbook through a reputable place such as Amazon I’ve found that they make the exchange process fairly painless and easy to do.
Secondly, I’ve also found out in some of my research some people have been complaining of faulty motherboards and that over a period of time they won’t even start up anymore. In fact I found one person who owned his for 18 months and the thing just stopped working. If this happens you probably won’t be able to exchange it for a new one. However I should mention again that this only happens to a very small percentage of users.
Finally, the last thing I found is that the cover that holds the display seems to be fairly thin. In fact their have been a few reports of people claiming to have cracked the covers as a result. So these netbooks may be a little less durable than other netbooks.
